College Visions’s Summer Prep class is an intensive, five-week college and career exploration program for high school students. It will be held at Woonsocket Education Center in July and August.
The curriculum includes engaging activities, projects, and field trips designed to help students explore college and career options and set goals for postsecondary success. Students research colleges, participate in a college immersion day, write college essays, create resumes, participate in career skill-building workshops, and visit local companies to learn about careers and network with their professionals. The curriculum incorporates RI Department of Education’s Common Core Standards and Individual Learning Plan requirements. There is also a workforce development component, for students to develop helpful career skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem solving.
Student apply for a spot in the cohort and these are the eligibility requirements:
- Student must live in Woonsocket, RI
- Student must be entering grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 in September 2026
- Student must attend Woonsocket High School, Beacon Charter, or RISE Prep Mayoral Academy for the 2026-27 academic year
- Student demonstrate a commitment to your personal, educational, and professional growth on your application
