Medication Aide/Tech

Course description

This vital training course empowers caregivers with the knowledge and skills to safely administer medications and support patient care within nursing home facilities.

You will Learn to

  • Understand medication classifications and their effects on the body
  • Administer medications under the supervision of a registered nurse
  • Follow written instructions from licensed healthcare professionals
  • Accurately document in a medication administration record

Course Schedule

  • September 23 – November 20, 2025
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Currently employed as a licensed CNA in active status
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Proof of legal residency
  • Letter of recommendation from a registered nurse at your current employer
  • Employment at a nursing home facility

This course is possible by the Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner, CCRI Division of Workforce Partnerships.
